Today in spotlight is Sankara Eye FOundation (SEF), whose vision is to eradicate curable blindness in India by the year 2020.
They initiate and drive community eye care activities in India by working with eye care organisations such as Sankara Eye Care Institutions, which runs the Sankara Eye Hospital in Coimbatore.
The majority of our fundraising effort is achieved through fundraising events, booths in major events, advertising and working with major donors.

Spotlight on Maitri - NPO helping south asians in situations of domestic abuse

In spotlight today is Maitri, a non-profit organization in bay area helping South Asian women (and now men) in situations of domestic abuse, cultural displacement, or unresolved conflict.
They run support groups for survivors of abuse as well as people still in abusive relationships seeking a safe place to explore their feelings and operate a transitional home, an six bed facility for women (and their children) who have left abusive relationships and are on their way to rebuilding their lives.
