In an emotionally abusive relationship, one person consistently controls the other through fear, humiliation, manipulation, fear or shame.
Feeling nervous is part of a normal, healthy life. It is an adaptive emotion that helps us know when we are safe, when we are in physical or emotional danger, and when we should feel afraid.
