The colorful festival of Holi will be celebrated right here at the Bishop Ranch 2 parking lot on Friday, March 22. Holi is an ancient festival of India that celebrates the beginning of spring. Participants throw brightly-colored powdered pigments on each other as a way to commemorate the vibrant, abundant colors of springtime and say farewell to the long winter. It’s beautiful, messy, and fun!

Teachers from the Milpitas Indian Community Center introduce India's cultural festivals, dance traditions, and art activities. This month, celebrate the spring festival, Holi, a.k.a. Festival of Colors, and learn to make Rangoli designs. Rangoli designs are made on living room floors as sacred welcoming areas for the Hindu deities.
