Spotlight in ICA - NPO nurturing & funds social entrepreneurs in US and in India

Today in spotlight is Indians for Collective Action, oldest south asian non-profit in bay area that nurtures social activists, spawned numerous initiatives including Asha for Education and Foundation for Excellence, and supported innovative community-led development projects in over 20 states of India and disbursing over $5.0 million . They partner with dedicated social workers and activists in India and the U.S.

Their mission is to enable the poor to seek and gain access to healthcare, education, local natural resources, and sustainable, community-based income earning opportunities. Their method is to provide seed funding, ongoing financial resources, and moral and technical support to innovative, community-based development initiatives. Hence motto: Development through innovation.
